Harbor duck just taking a breather

It's no yolk folks - the giant inflatable rubber duck which has had tens of thousands flocking to Victoria Harbor to catch a

glimpse over the past two weeks is looking like a fried egg.

Apparently the duck has been having trouble coping with our turbulent Hong Kong waters and so has been let down.

Organizers Harbor City announced on their Facebook and Twitter accounts : "The Rubber Duck needs to freshen up. Stay tuned for its return."

A spokeswoman said : "In the past two weeks, there were storms and the duck was hit by the impact of the sea waves. What we are doing is to just give it a check up and see if it is going to be all right."

Mirinna Chan, a 45-year-old executive, said : "The sky looks like it is crying for me - I took time off work just to see the duck and now it is just a blob."

One man also said that children shed tears when the duck was deflated.

The 16.5-meter duck is due back on display at the end of this week.
